Description - this class combines the following two classes:

Hazard Communication

This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ.   Hazard Communication is one of the most frequently cited safety standards.  Hazard Communication, also known as "The Right to Know Act", is covered in both OSHA standards and the Texas Hazard Communication Act.  In almost every workplace there are chemicals, some of which are hazardous to life and health or are flammable.  Hundreds of workers are injured each year from chemicals.  This course provides employers and employees the following information: 

  • Hazardous chemicals in the workplace

  • Material Safety Data Sheets MSDSs

  • Container Labeling

  • Right to Know and Employer/Employee Responsibilities

  • Chemical Safety Work Practices

  • Emergency Response

  • PPE

  • How to conduct a Hazardous Chemical Evaluation

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Tools & Machine Guarding

This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ.   Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a course designed to give employers and employees information on specific types of PPE.  This a head to toe look at PPE and will cover the following:

  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • Face and head protection
  • Workshop:  "Conducting a PPE Hazard Assessment"
  • Hands, arms, body and feet
  • Choosing the correct PPE for the task

Tool Safety Includes:

  • Electric and pnewumatic tools
  • Tool inspections
  • Power tools and their hazards
  • Machine guarding
