Water and Wastewater Training

Hardin & Associates Consulting, LLC (HAC) is a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved training provider offering training for individuals in the water and wastewater industry.

Water and Wastewater and OSHA Safety Classes 

HAC provides training for Water, Wastewater professionals and meets the requirements estabished by TCEQ for licensing in the State of Texas.  Classes include: 

Basic Water Works Operations - This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ for licensing in the Water industry in the State of Texas.  It is required for the D Water License. A required course for entry-level operators, this basic course in water works operation introduces the student to the relationship between safe potable (drinking) water and health, and the important role that the water operator plays in maintaining adequate safe drinking water supplies.  Required for C Distribution, C Ground, C Surface and D. 

Basic Wastewater Operations - This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ for licensing in the Wastewater industry in the State of Texas.  It is required for the D and C Wastewater License. This is an introductory course in wastewater collection and treatment that includes a brief review of the water cycle together with a general description of the responsibilities of wastewater system personnel and the need for regulation of wastewater dischargers to protect receiving streams and the public health, safety, and welfare.  Required for D and C Wastewater Licenses. 

Water Utilities Safety - This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ for licensing in the Water/Wastewater Industry in the State of Texas.  This course is a comprehensive safety course for water utility workers including an introduction to safety concepts and safety programs, the "Right to Know" law, chemical safety, first aid, description and use of personal protective equipment, confined space safety, excavating and trenching, biological hazards, electrical safety, work site protection and safe use of vehicles and other equipment. Required for Wastewater A and B License and for Water License:  B Distribution, B Ground, B Surface, A License.  Elective for Wastewater C License and for Water License:  C Distribution, C Ground.

Water Utilities Calculations - This course provides a comprehensive review of basic mathematical concepts including order of operation, fractions, decimals, ratios and proportions, percents, exponents, square roots, areas of two-dimensional surfaces, three-dimensional surface areas and volumes.  Math applications for both water and wastewater laboratory, electrical, pump and motor, hydraulics, treatment, and disposal calculations are included. Elective for Wastewater License A, B, C and for Water License:  C Distribution, C Ground, B Distribution, B Ground.

Groundwater Production - This training course meets the requirements by TCEQ for licensing in the Water industry in the State of Texas.  This course provides a brief review of the water cycle, a general description of the of the responsibiliies of water system personnel, and the need for regulation of the water utility industry to protect the public health, safety, and welfare are presented.  Required for Water License:  C Ground, B Ground, A License

Basic Math - This class will begin with a review of basic math concepts and move into formulas frequently used in the Water and Wastewater industry.  Emphasis is on learning to solve formulas such as area (in square feet), volume (in cubic feet), chemical dosage, detention time, PSI versus height of water column, flow in pipe.  Provides 8 hours of CEUs for Water and Wastewater System Operators.

Advanced Math - This course focuses on providing Water and Wastewater operators with the skills needed to pass the math portions of the B and A level Water and Wastewater exams. The course picks up where Basic Math leaves off (no pre-requisite required to take Advanced Math). Provides 10 hours of CEUs for Water and Wastewater System Operators.

Irrigation Technician - This course meets the requirement by TCEQ for licensing in the Irrigation Program in the State of Texas.  It provides 16 hours of continuing education for licensed Irrigation Technicians, Irrigators, and Irrigation Inspectors.

Water and Wastewater License Test Preparation Classes

HAC provides training for water and wastewater professionals designed to prepare them to take the licensing examinations.  Note:  TCEQ CEU's not given for the preparation classes.  Classes include: 

Class C Water License Preparation Class - This training course will prepare students to take the Class C Water licensing examination.  This course will provide refresher training mathematics and other areas of knowledge from which the tests are developed.  Students are responsible for furnishing their own Water Manual used in the course.  Bring a standard calculator.

Class B Water License Preparation Class - This training course will prepare students to take the Class B Water licensing examination.  This course will provide refresher training mathematics and other areas of knowledge from which the tests are developed.  Students are responsible for furnishing their own Water Manual used in the course.  Bring a standard calculator. 

Class C Wastewater License Preparation Class - This training course will prepare students to take the Class C Wastewater licensing examination.  This course will provide refresher training mathematics and other areas of knowledge from which the tests are developed.  Students are responsible for furnishing their own Wastewater Manual used in the course.  Bring a standard calculator.

Class B Wastewater License Preparation Class - This training course will prepare students to take the Class B Wastewater licensing examination.  This course will provide refresher training mathematics and other areas of knowledge from which the tests are developed.  Students are responsible for furnishing their own Wastewater Manual used in the course.  Bring a standard calculator.
