This 8-Hour Backflow Repair course is designed for licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPATs) and water professionals seeking continuing education in the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of backflow prevention assemblies. Participants will learn how to diagnose and correct common failure points in Reduced Pressure Principle Assemblies (RP), Double Check Valve Assemblies (DCVA), Pressure Vacuum Breakers (PVB), and Spill-Resistant Vacuum Breakers (SVB).

Through lectures, live demonstrations, and guided practice, students will develop a solid understanding of proper repair procedures and component identification to restore assemblies to full operational condition in accordance with TCEQ standards and manufacturer guidelines. The class also covers repair safety and evaluation methods for determining whether to repair or replace assemblies.

 

Completing this course provides 8-hours of continuing education credit for the following licenses:

  • Water Utility Operators
  • Customer Service Inspectors
  • Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers [includes hands-on]
  • Landscape Irrigators, Technicians, or Inspectors
